Double-murdering ex-WWE ace Chris Benoit’s son wants to wrestle for rival promotion AEW with Chris Jericho

THE son of double-murdering ex-WWE star Chris Benoit, has declared his intention to join All Elite Wrestling.

Former World Heavyweight Champion Chris murdered his wife and son before taking his own life back in 2007 in a tragedy that rocked the wrestling world.

Before that the grappler was widely-regarded as one of the greatest in-ring performers in the business.

Now his other boy David, 26, has revealed he has been training with some of AEW’s athletes, where his late father’s former best friend Chris Jericho is employed.

After the horrific tragedy that befell his family, WWE have regularly invited David backstage over recent years.

But it is the Tony Khan-backed rival promotion where he wants to work rather than Vince McMahon’s.

with Fred Rosser, aka former WWE superstar Darren Young, he said: “I’m just messing around in the ring right now with a couple of guys from AEW.”

Although he failed to mention exactly which wrestlers he had been working with inside the squared-circle, he did highlight his close friendship with AEW World Champion Jericho and that he has already had gear made for his debut.

And he revealed he had attended both of their recent Double or Nothing and All Out pay-per-views.

And then when quizzed about where he wants to compete, he made no secret of his wish to join AEW.

He replied: “I want to go to AEW one hundred per cent.

“I love AEW. I love what they do for the boys. Take care of them.”

On the same podcast Benoit claimed he is no longer allowed backstage at WWE shows.

He did not confirm the reason why, but he was spotted wearing an AEW jacket backstage at one of WWE’s events in March.
