Paige suspended by WWE on her birthday for violating the company’s wellness policy along with real-life boyfriend Alberto Del Rio
British star has not been on WWE programming for a month - her last televised match for the company was on June 27
WWE have suspended British star Paige and her real-life boyfriend Alberto Del Rio for 30 days in violation of the company's wellness policy.
The news of the wrestling couple's ban was cruelly confirmed on Paige's 24th BIRTHDAY.
The statements from the WWE read: "WWE has suspended Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) for 30 days effective tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 18, for her first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.
"WWE has suspended Jose Rodriguez (Alberto Del Rio) for 30 days effective tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 18, for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy."
The 30-day suspension is standard for a first violation. WWE has not further commented publicly on either former world champion Del Rio or Paige’s suspensions, and it isn’t known what caused either violation.
