The annual extravaganza was due to take place at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay on April 5 until the coronavirus outbreak forced it off.

WWE then announced it had been switched to its Performance Center in Orlando, with it due to be broadcast being closed doors.

Now a statement from WWE has confirmed: “WrestleMania 36 is now set for a historic two-night presentation on WWE Network with former New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski hosting The Show of Shows at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5.”

It continued: “Earlier this week, it was announced WrestleMania 36 would emanate from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and only essential personnel will be on the closed set during production.

“WrestleMania will not only take place at WWE’s training facility but will include multiple locations over two nights. All locations will be closed sets with only essential personnel.”

It continued: “Titles and legacies are on the line as WrestleMania 36 features a loaded slate of matches.

“Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre challenges WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, Universal Champion Goldberg defends his title against Roman Reigns, and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch looks to fight off the rise of Shayna Baszler.

“Also, 16-time World Champion John Cena also returns to battle “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, AJ Styles hopes to put the ‘final nail in the coffin’ of The Undertaker’s career and much more.”

NFL legend Rob Gronkowski was reportedly in “deep talks” with WWE to make a sensational switch from American Football to wrestling earlier this week.

The 30-year-old retired from the gridiron last year and now works as an analyst on Fox Sports after spending his whole playing career with the New England Patriots.

“Gronk” won the Super Bowl three times during his nine-year period with the Pats, but he may now have his eyes on WWE gold – And this is not his first foray into the ring.

Gronkowski is close friends with WWE wrestler Mojo Rawley.

The former tight end was ringside to watch his buddy compete in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33.

Jindah Mahal took exception to that and mocked the 6ft 5in powerhouse, leading to “Gronk” climbing into the ring and flattening the “Modern Day Maharaja” to help Rawley win.
