NFL and New England Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski ‘in deep talks’ and close to finalising a deal to join WWE
NFL legend Rob Gronkowski is reportedly in “deep talks” with WWE to make a sensational switch from American Football to wrestling.
The 30-year-old retired from the gridiron last year and now works as an analyst on Fox Sports after spending his whole playing career with the New England Patriots.
“Gronk” won the Super Bowl three times during his nine-year period with the Pats, but he may now have his eyes on WWE gold.
The claim was made by last night, who said the star is “deep in talks with WWE and close to finalising a deal”.
It remains unclear what sort of role Gronkowski would be used in, but he could making an appearance sooner than you think.
Several reports claim he may show up when WWE heads to New Orleans, Louisiana on March 20 for SmackDown.
And, of course, that would not be his first foray into the ring.
Gronkowski is close friends with WWE wrestler Mojo Rawley.
The former tight end was ringside to watch his buddy compete in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33.
Jindah Mahal took exception to that and mocked the 6ft 5in powerhouse, leading to “Gronk” climbing into the ring and flattening the “Modern Day Maharaja” to help Rawley win.
