Andy Murray’s US Open charge continues as Wimbledon champ cruises to second-round victory over Marcel Granollers
British ace serves up a storm in the States as he takes full control in 6-4, 6-1, 6-4 straight sets win
ANDY MURRAY remains a big noise in New York after overcoming his opponent and the incredible din on court.
Murray struggled to reproduce his form from the first-round demolition of Lukas Rosol as the roof on the Arthur Ashe Stadium, the crowd and torrential rain combined to create a bizarre atmosphere.
At one point early in the second set of his 6-4 6-1 6-4 win over Marcel Granollers it was impossible to hear yourself think because of the cacophony of the water crashing on to the roof and of the air conditioning system.
But Murray kept his head to move into the third round of the US Open.
When told about the monsoon outside, Murray said: “Is that was happening out there? At first we thought maybe just a few more people had come in but we quickly realised it was raining outside.
