Wimbledon 2016: Players warned they must stick to all-white dress code at SW19

Nick Kyrgios, Eugenie Bouchard and Roger Federer have fallen foul of rules in recent years

ANDY MURRAY and tennis stars at Wimbledon have been warned they MUST stick to the all white dress code at SW19.

Chiefs at the All England Club sent out guidelines this week to players taking part reminding them to stick to the dress code - described as 'quite extreme' by Roger Federer.

revealed that players have been told to remember they must stick to the code.

Off-white and cream is not allowed, while only a centimetre wide strip of colour is allowed on any item of clothing.

The strictly enforced code has hit the headlines numerous times in recent years.

In 2015 tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios was reprimanded after wearing a colourful headband, being told he had to wear it inside out.

The headband was an official Wimbledon one with a green and purple strip.

The year before Canadian bombshell Eugenie Bouchard became national news after officials saw she was wearing a black sports bra.

Previously Pat Cash has pulled out of the tournament because the soles of his shoes were deemed too colourful.
