With Fijian-flier Cokanasiga in Jonny May gets a rest and two-try Manu Tuilagi is also given Thursday night off in Kobe as Eddie Jones makes 10 changes to the starting XV that beat Tonga.

Boss Jones said: “USA are a tough, physical team who are extremely well coached by Gary Gold.

"There are a number of players who our guys know really well and are a team we respect. They have prepared two weeks with the marines for this game so they will be fit, tough and be playing for the pride of their country."

Fly-half George Ford captains the side with usual skipper Owen Farrell on the bench.

And Ruaridh McConnochie gets his tournament debut on the right wing against a side England have never lost to in five meetings.

Dan Cole equals Jonny Wilkinson's 91 caps and is joined by hooker Luke Cowan Dickie and loosehead Joe Marler in the front row.

The second-row is also changed with George Kruis and Joe Launchbury in for Maro Itoje and Courtney Lawes.

Tom Curry and Billy Vunipola start their second game in a row with Lewis Ludlam starting at openside flanker.

Ben Youngs, who will also equal Wilko's caps, is on the bench so Willi Heinz is in from the off - as is inside centre Piers Francis and Jonathan Joseph.

Elliot Daly is one of just five players who start for the second game running, but Henry Slade is rested after picking up a knock shortly after coming on against Tonga in Sapporo.

Jones added: “The four-day turnaround is something we experimented with against Japan last autumn and so the players have had some experience of it.
