BLACK AND BEYOND

New Zealand 29 Australia 9: Kiwis follow up last weekend’s demolition job in Sydney with a dominant win over the Wallabies in the Bledisloe Cup

NEW ZEALAND took a giant step closer to re-claiming the Rugby Championship title with a second win against defending champs Australia in two weeks.

Israel Dagg grabbed two tries, while Julian Savea and Ben Smith both went over for the All Blacks.

The Wallabies were destroyed in Sydney last weekend as the world champs roared to a 42-8 victory after accusations the Kiwis hotel had been BUGGED.

Fly-half Beauden Barrett also showcased his growing stature as the starter with nine points from the boot and his all-round play drove his side around the field in a match that failed to reach the same heights as last week's opener.

Wallabies No10 Bernard Foley slotted two penalties, while debutant Reece Hodge landed a monster penalty in the first half for the visitors, who rarely threatened on attack and resorted to negative tactics to slow the pace of the All Blacks game.

The All Blacks have held the Bledisloe Cup, the symbol of trans-Tasman supremacy since 2003 and only had to draw in Wellington to ensure it stayed locked in New Zealand Rugby's trophy cabinet for another season.

And it shows no sign of leaving their shores anytime soon.
