Eddie Jones is highest paid Rugby World Cup coach but miles behind Premier League managers and Gareth Southgate
EDDIE JONES may be the creme de la creme when it comes to the Rugby World Cup's highest earners but Pep Guardiola is the cat who got the cream.
The Red Rose coach, 59, takes home £750,000, which ranks No1 among the managers in Japan - some £300,000 clear of Wales' Warren Gatland in second.
His salary pales in comparison to Manchester City chief Guardiola (£20million) and England football chief Gareth Southgate (£3m).
But Aussie Jones should not be too disheartened as he still beats cricket supremo Trevor Bayliss, who he will be hoping to join as a World Cup-winner on Saturday.
From the looks of the earnings, Liverpool can expect Jurgen Klopp to ask for a raise as he is currently on less than half of his title rival's wages.
Mauricio Pochettino and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer both take home more than the Reds tactician despite struggling this season.
Jones will be in for an added bonus if he beats the Springboks as the RFU have promised a £6m kitty for players and management if they lift the Webb Ellis Cup.

The organisation has already spent over £3m on preparations for the tournament and is short of cash.
Rugby suits even sent Will Carling to the City to raise an extra £250,000 to hand to Jones.
An RFU source said: "The RFU over the last period of time has had to be prudent in the way we spend money."
