'I'M DEVASTATED'

Rio Olympics 2016: Pole vaulter Hiroki Ogita speaks of his ‘devastation’ after missing out on a medal but denies his penis cost him

POOR pole vaulter Hiroki Ogita has spoken of his "devastation" after missing out on an Olympic medal, but denied that it was his penis which cost him in the event.

Pole vaulting coach, David Yeo, added that it was "just the crumpling of the fabric which happened at the wrong position" which made it look like his member struck the bar, causing him to be disqualified.

Ogita was attempting to clear a height of 5.3 metres in group A of the first round of the pole vault, when his leg came in contact with the bar. As he began to drop back down towards the ground, his shin grazed the bar, causing it to wobble dangerously.

But it looked to be his his willy that delivered the final blow. Already unsteady, the bar was dislodged from its holdings when Ogita’s old fellow decided to make an appearance and slap the metal. The vaulter’s arm then collected the bar as it began to fall.

Ogita, 28, claimed: "I never expected the foreign media to take me down like this.

"It's one thing if it was true, but I have to say I'm pretty devastated that they'd go so far to make something up to mock and ridicule me so much."

World renowned coach Yeo added: " I think it was just the crumpling of the fabric which happened at the wrong position."
