Rio Olympics 2016: Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro leads Team GB to dressage silver

TEAM GB won a silver medal in the team dressage after a brilliant ride from Charlotte Dujardin on Valegro.

Spencer Wilton, Fiona Bigwood, Carl Hester and Dujardin finished runners-up to dominant world champions Germany.

Britain had won this event at London 2012 but were pipped to the post by Germany.

The quartet gained 78.602 points, three points behind the leaders.

The USA won bronze and the Netherlands come fourth.

Hester, 49, told BBC Sport: "It is a very elated feeling and we fought hard for this.

"These horses have travelled halfway across the world and the fact they can perform at this level is so incredible.

"We're very happy with how they have gone."
