Rio 2016: Jessica Ennis-Hill believes Team GB can bring home biggest-ever away medal tally
The Brits have a target of at least 48 medals — a record away haul — ahead of the Games’ opening ceremony in Rio
JESSICA ENNIS-HILL believes Team GB can bring home their biggest-ever medal tally at an away Olympics.
The Brits have a target of at least 48 medals — a record away haul — ahead of the Games’ opening ceremony in Rio tonight.
Team GB won 47 medals at Beijing in 2008 and a record 65 in London four years ago, including 29 golds.
And heptathlon champion Ennis-Hill, who memorably won gold in 2012, insisted: “I’m hoping we can finish high in the medals table. We had amazing Games in London but have moved on in quite a few of the sports and there are some really good medal hopes.”
