NFL star Julian Edelman arrested after New England Patriots star jumps on bonnet of Mercedes
NFL star Julian Edelman has been arrested for jumping on the bonnet of a Mercedes.
The wide receiver, 33, was partying in Beverley Hills when he allegedly hopped on to the front of the vehicle, damaging the body.
A member of the public flagged down a passing police car and the LAPD cuffed the three-time Super Bowl winner.
According to , he was arrested, cited for misdemeanour vandalism and released hours later, leaving the police station with friends.
Edelman would have been playing this weekend if the Patriots had not lost in a sloppy NFL Wild Card round defeat to the Tennessee Titans last weekend.
He is also due to have surgery on a troublesome knee, making the vault on to a car even more impressive.
The Kent State graduate is expected to offer to pay damages to the owner of the vehicle, which could see him escape any censure from the LA County District Attorney's office.

Edelman played in three Super Bowls in a row, including the Patriots' incredible 28-0 comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons.
They then lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in an equally crazy Super Bowl a year later, before beating the LA Rams 13-3 a year ago.
Edelman grabbed 10 catches for 141 yards — in a stadium named, ironically, Mercedes Benz Arena — and was named MVP as the Patriots won a record-equalling sixth Super Bowl with a 13-3 win over the LA Rams.
