Lewis Hamilton breaks F1 record by becoming first driver to win at 24 different circuits

Brit's win also meant the title race will go down to the last GP of the season in Abu Dhabi

LEWIS HAMILTON may be forced to hand his title over to Nico Rosberg but he set a new record with his win at the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday.

His victory meant the Brit became the first F1 driver to win at a remarkable 24 different circuits.

Hamilton was at his brilliant best as he cruised to victory in Sao Paulo despite facing torrential rain, two red flags and five safety cars.

After 10 attempts the Mercedes driver can now tick the circuit off his list which also includes the European GP where he has finished second on three occasions.

Hamilton also failed to win at the Korean, Indian and French GP but the trio are no longer on the racing calendar.

Despite declaring he was “just chilling out front”, Hamilton’s victory may not be enough as Rosberg took second place.

It means the F1 title race will go down to the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi with the German 12 points ahead of his Mercedes team-mate.

Rosberg will need to finish on the podium to guarantee his first ever world championship.
