JB then called out Cruise, 56, to try his hand at the latest social media craze.

Bieber posted on Instagram: “I nominate Tom Cruise and Hailey Bieber.”

The latest challenge comes after Mission Impossible star Cruise was called out to a UFC fight by Bieber in June.

Throwing down the gauntlet the on Twitter, and tagging in UFC president Dana White, JB tweeted: "I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon.

“Tom if you don't take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite?"

It emerged Ari Emanuel, the co-CEO of the William Morris Endeavor agency that owns UFC, had a conference call with Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, and promoter White.

Braun is reported to have made it "clear" that Bieber would "absolutely" fight Cruise - who had a bare knuckle fight scene in 1992 film Far and Away - if the Top Gun icon was up for it too.

And it is further claimed that Emanuel "strongly believes" Cruise, who is in amazing physical shape for his age, would agree to enter the octagon.

White, 49, has previously spoken about the bout - having promoted the crossover mega-fight between Mayweather and McGregor in 2017.

The MMA boss said: "So I’m gonna tell you something interesting, obviously, this thing came out - lots of people will talk about fighting somebody in the UFC, things like that.

"Whether it’s NFL players, or celebrities or whatever, it happens a lot. So obviously I saw it like everybody else did and I didn’t pay much attention to it.

"It picked up a lot of steam and was everywhere.

"I’m not gonna say any names but I’m just gonna tell you that I got a phone call from a couple of real guys that said that they really do want to do this fight and they believe that Tom Cruise would do the fight.

"And I told them, ‘Well, I’ll tell you this, if that’s true, if that’s true and everybody involved in this thing really wants to do it, we can talk'.

"Let me tell you what, I’d be an idiot not to make this fight. That would be the easiest fight to ever promote in the history of my career."

Let's wait and see if Cruise has the bottle for it now.
