Justin Bieber could face Tom Cruise in Hollywood UFC showdown with Dana White open for talks with rivals
UFC president Dana White claims he would be an “idiot” not to promote a fight between Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise - and believes the Mission Impossible star "would do it".
Pop artist Bieber, 25, last week called out 56-year-old Cruise to a fight in the octagon and tagged UFC chief White in the post.
The fight had the backing of former UFC champion McGregor, who offered to have McGregor Sports and Entertainment host the bout.
However, McGregor’s UFC boss White told he will be the man to promote the Hollywood showdown - revealing representatives have contacted him to get the ball rolling.
White said: “So I’m gonna tell you something interesting, obviously, this thing came out - lots of people will talk about fighting somebody in the UFC, things like that.
“Whether it’s NFL players, or celebrities or whatever, it happens a lot. So obviously I saw it like everybody else did and I didn’t pay much attention to it.
“It picked up a lot of steam and was everywhere.
“I’m not gonna say any names but I’m just gonna tell you that I got a phone call from a couple of real guys that said that they really do want to do this fight and they believe that Tom Cruise would do the fight.
“And I told them, ‘Well, I’ll tell you this, if that’s true, if that’s true and everybody involved in this thing really wants to do it, we can talk'.
“Let me tell you what, I’d be an idiot not to make this fight. That would be the easiest fight to ever promote in the history of my career.”
White had boxing legend James Toney enter the cage in 2010 for a farcical MMA match with Randy Couture - which ended by submission after three minutes.
Fast forward seven years and the UFC’s greatest star, McGregor, entered the boxing world and lasted a commendable ten rounds with ring legend Floyd Mayweather.
The mavericks sold 4.4million pay-per-views and generated an estimated £457million on the way.
Bieber has been captured showing off fast hands in the past, training with Mayweather and Brit star David Haye.
While stuntman Cruise was an accomplished high school wrestler.

Having defined the odds by making the biggest boxing match in history, promoter White has the “anything is possible” attitude that could pave the way for this extraordinary celeb fight.
He added: “I didn’t think that Floyd and Conor was gonna happen and it did.
“Anything is possible these days. Anything is possible.”
