Floyd Mayweather so confident of Conor McGregor victory that he may even bet $5m on himself

FLOYD MAYWEATHER is reportedly ready to put his money where his mouth is this weekend with a monster bet on him beating Conor McGregor.

The American boxer is so confident of victory that he is said to be considering placing a $5million, or £3.9m, wager on it.

Sin City-based sports betting expert and radio host  that he has news from a "trusted Vegas source" on Mayweather's mega bet.

And with odds of 1/4, Mayweather would bank $6.25m (£4.88m) if he defeated McGregor in Las Vegas.

Mayweather is known to like a gamble and is often posting winning bet slips on social media.

In May he shared an image on Instagram of him holding a pile of cash, saying he bet on his friend and Boston Celtics basketball star Isaiah Thomas.

Mayweather and McGregor both made their grand arrival in Las Vegas on Tuesday ahead of this weekend's showdown.

The pair nearly clashed outside the T-Mobile Arena on a heated afternoon in the scorching Nevada desert.

That was one of three scuffles McGregor was nearly involved in as he also had verbal exchanges with ex-sparring partner Paulie Malignaggi... and a fan.

The Tuesday festivities officially kicked off the fight week build-up with Mayweather and McGregor set for battle at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night.

The fighters will come face to face on Wednesday in the final press conference where tempers could boil over again.

The weigh-in on Friday is expected to take place in front of a huge crowd.

The brand new T-Mobile Arena only opened last April, but it will be the centre of the sporting world on Saturday night with 20,000 fans expected and millions watching around the world.
