FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR has responded to Conor McGregor's claims that he will stop him.
Last weekend whilst attending the pro debut of friend and fellow Irishmen Michael Conlan, McGregor promised that if he fought Mayweather, he wouldn't just win, but he'd stop the five-weight ex-world champion boxer.
The UFC star said: “Trust me, I will stop Floyd. You’re all going to eat your words. The whole world will eat their words.

“Watch me take over boxing. Trust me on that. No-one in this boxing game knows what it coming."
Fast forward to this weekend, Floyd has now responded to Conor's confident predictions.
The 40-year-old told FIGHTHYPE.COM: "I feel he's entitled to feel the way he wants to feel, the only thing you can do is respect that.
"I didn't just become world champion overnight, it was a process, it took me longer than four years, but not as a professional, as professional it took me less than two years to become world champion.
"But as an amateur, I had my first amateur fight in 87 and I wasn't a world champion in the professional ranks until I was 21 I think, 1998."
After having mentioned to him that UFC president Dana White said it is going to happen, Floyd said, "If it happens it happens, we'll just see.
"I just want to say, Dana White, I was overseas when they told me what you said, I want to say good work Dana White.
"Conor McGregor they said, you finally opened your mouth - you back to talking s***, you know I say that's cool too."
Mayweather Jr. and UFC's McGregor have been locked in months of negotiations, but with the UFC coming forward and saying they want the fight to happen, expect an imminent announcement.
