Unbeaten Brit Darren ‘The Dentist’ Stewart ready to extract a win from Francimar Barroso at UFC Sao Paulo
Undefeated light-heavyweight prospect Darren Stewart speaks to SunSport ahead of his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night in Sao Paulo, Brazil
WHILE the eyes of most of the UK's MMA fans will be fixed on Belfast this weekend, there's also British interest on the other side of the world on Saturday night.
That's because undefeated British light-heavyweight prospect Darren Stewart will be making his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night in Sao Paulo, Brazil, that same night.
Stewart takes on 18-5 Brazilian Francimar Barroso in the very first fight of the night, with the Brazilian hoping his home advantage will bring him victory in his sixth outing in the UFC.
And the man known as 'The Dentist' told SunSport that the Brazilian's appointment will be anything but pleasant.
"I was at the gym ready to start my normal routine when Graham Boylan from my management said I'm in the UFC," he explained.
"The fight will go how I want it. I will set the pace, he said.
"I've worked hard on different aspects of my training and I'm ready to go. I'll be cold and clinical."
And for the fans who'll be watching Stewart for the first time, he's promised a spectacular performance as he looks to extend his perfect professional record to 8-0 at Barroso's expense on Saturday night.
"Fans can expect what they always get from me," he said.
"A thrilling night, some teeth flying, Superman punch-up, head kicks...
"Overall, an exciting fight."
And 'The Dentist' signed off with a chilling warning for the Brazilian ahead of the bout, which fans can watch live on UFC Fight Pass on Saturday night.
"He's just another patient who's gonna get drilled".
