CONOR MCGREGOR could be fighting closer to home next year - after Real Madrid chiefs put forward the Bernabeu as a possible fight venue.
The Irish MMA superstar, 28, has fought his last six bouts in America but is keen to return to Europe and be closer to his homegrown supporters.
And the giant Madrid arena - which could host 80,000 fight fans - has been touted as a potential option if Notorious decides to fight back over the pond.

A spokesperson for Real told Irish radio station Newstalk: "We would be glad if we could make a UFC event; our stadium can hold more than 80,000 fans.”
McGregor is preparing for a shot at history in UFC 205, which will be held in Madison Square Gardens in New York on November 12.
The Irish fighter scored a memorable rematch victory over Nate Diaz in his last outing and is looking beat undisputed UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.
If he’s successful, he’ll hold both the UFC featherweight and lightweight world championships, becoming the first athlete to hold two UFC belts simultaneously.
After the success of UFC 204 at the Manchester Arena, chiefs are keen to expand into Europe.
Northern crowds were treated to Bisping vs. Henderson 2 and over 16,000 were in attendance to watch the bout, which Bisping won by unanimous decision.
