Michael Bisping vows to ‘smash Dan Henderson to bits’ in Manchester rematch at UFC 204
British star has revenge on his mind following his brutal KO at the hands of the American at UFC 100
UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping says he's ready to exact revenge for the most devastating loss of his career.
Bisping was brutally knocked out by Dan Henderson at UFC 100 back in 2009 and now the Brit, who has never lost a bout on home soil, is set to face 'Hendo' for a second time, in Manchester, at .
"I'm announcing it," Bisping declared on his radio show The Countdown on Sirius XM in the States.
"Dan Henderson versus Michael Bisping for the 185lb middleweight title. October 8th, from Manchester, live on pay per view. Do not miss it!
"Here's the thing. A lot of people have been talking s**t about this matchup and a lot of people have been very excited about this matchup.
"For all these other p*****s at 185. The Chris Weidmans, the Jacares, the Rockholds, right? The fight is only eight weeks away. They're still gonna be there in eight weeks' time.
"I plan on putting a beating on Henderson that people will never forget in a long, long time."
Bisping then detailed the huge knockout he suffered at the hands of Henderson seven years ago, highlighting the American's exclamation point in that bout, a massive flying forearm smash on the already clearly unconscious Brit.
"Dan Henderson knocked me out at UFC 100 and, when I was unconscious, flew through the air and delivered a forearm smash that could have left me severely brain damaged," he said.
"I owe that guy. I owe that guy, big time.
"He has this logo of him above my almost dead corpse emblazoned on his shorts. It's everywhere - that's his logo. You don't think I wanna get revenge for that?
"The guy just knocked out Hector Lombard, who hasn't been knocked out, ever. So he's still very very dangerous. He's a tough opponent.
"But make no mistake, I'm gonna smash him to bits and the guy will never even think of walking into an Octagon ever again."
Despite the brutal nature of his defeat to Henderson back at UFC 100, Bisping says it will be a completely different story second time around.
And the Brit called on Henderson to declare that he's going to fight clean, despite Bisping's theory that the American could employ a devil-may-care approach to anti-doping regulations going into the final bout of his career.
"Let me tell you this - lighting does not strike twice," he said.
"It struck once the first time. It will not strike twice.
"There will be no TRT, no drugs, no steroids, no performance-enhancing drugs.
"Dan Henderson, I challenge you to announce to me at the press conference that you will not take any performance-enhancing drugs. And that if USADA show up on any day, any time, they can test you, because I think he's gonna cheat.
"I think he's gonna go out there and have some sneaky PEDs, because he's gonna think 'Well screw it, if I get suspended, so what? I'm retiring anyway'."
