Conor McGregor demanded to fight winner of BMF title up until Nate Diaz lost, claims UFC star Jorge Masvidal

JORGE MASVIDAL claims Conor McGregor has gone quiet about fighting for the ‘Baddest Mother F***er’ belt since Nate Diaz lost.

Popular Miami brawler Masvidal, 35, beat former McGregor rival Diaz, 34, in New York, winning the BMF title.

The Notorious, 31, announced his comeback at a press conference in Moscow this month, and revealed after his January 18 return that he wanted to face the winner of the UFC 244 main event.

But Masvidal - who battered Diaz’s right eye so much the fight was stopped in round three - said since his Madison Square Garden victory, he has not heard a “peep” from McGregor.

He told Dan Le Batard: “To be quite frank, he was flirting with fighting the winner when the possibility of the winner was Nate.

“And he kept throwing it out there. He even made his prediction he thought Nate would win.

“Since I’ve won, he hasn’t said a peep to address me or nothing.

“I’m not a bully, either. I’m not going to be one of these cyber bullies.

“If you don’t want to fight, I don’t want to fight. If you want to fight, I’m licking my chops.”

Masvidal’s trainer Mike Brown revealed McGregor, Diaz, along with a UFC title bout “makes sense” for 2019’s standout performer.

Brown told SunSport: “I’d like the Diaz rematch, I like Conor and then a title fight - I like all three fights.

“They all make sense, in whatever order, I just don’t particularly like Colby vs Jorge, I don’t want two ATT fighters - but it’s a good problem to have.

“He’ll fight Nate again, whether it’s next or not that’s down to his management.”
