THERE was some high-class action on the level up and down the country on a red-hot Saturday.
Stay in the know with our Report Card as we keep you a step ahead of the bookies and find you the stories that matter.
A horse on the up 🏇
Charlie Fellowes is a trainer going places, and the same can be said of his Northumberland Vase winner Carnwennan (3.00 Newcastle).
The progressive four-year-old had something up his sleeve when winning the valuable pot under Stevie Donohoe at Newcastle.
He will climb up the staying ranks this summer and who knows when his improvement will end.
Gamble landed 💰
Invincible Army (2.25 Newcastle) flopped when well fancied for the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.
But James Tate's stable star was turned out quickly and smashed up in the betting (15-8 into 10-11) in the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle.
And his supporters would barely have had a moments worry as the high-class speedster made all for a comfortable success. Go and collect.
One for the tracker 🔭
The Clive Cox-trained Hand On My Heart (4.00 Windsor) made her debut in a hot little race at Windsor.
And she clearly has a big engine as she overcame her inexperience to see off some smart rivals to win at the first attempt with something to spare.
She has a bright future and should be followed this summer.
