A horse on the up 🏇

Charlie Fellowes' Samba Saravah (3.30 Newcastle) caused a shock on his handicap debut at Newcastle.

The colt, who barely beat a rival in three outings for Jeremy Noseda, stormed clear to win by three and three quarter lengths.

He won here off a mark of 62 and will surely follow up under a penalty before the handicapper has a chance to wallop him.

Gamble landed at Newcastle 💰

Archie Watson sent out yet another two-year-old winner on Thursday, this time with the well-backed Gallaside (2.25 Newcastle).

The son of Lucayan was punted into 5-4 from 5-2 and won easily under jockey Hollie Doyle.

The colt relished the step up to 7f and no doubt he can find the back of the net again.

One for the tracker 🔭

Ghalyoon (3.50 Newmarket) shaped with distinct promise on his first outing for Marcus Tregoning.

The four-year-old offered little in one outing last season for John Gosden.

But he kept on nicely for a clear second in a decent-looking maiden at Newmarket. Stick him in your tracker.
