THE racing on Friday whetted the appetite nicely for a big weekend ahead.
We've been keeping a close eye on the action here at Sun Racing HQ and picked out some snippets you may have missed.
A horse on the up 📈
Nonchalance (4.30 Haydock) ran out a very taking winner over 1m at Haydock.
John Gosden's well-bred filly, who is from the family of Nathaniel and Great Heavens, was having her second start after a promising debut fourth at Wolves.
She cruised through the race under Rab Havlin and breezed clear to win easily by three lengths. She has a very bright future indeed.
Ride of the day 💪
Nicola Currie gave La Maquina an absolute peach of a ride for trainer George Baker at Goodwood.
The four-year-old was barely in camera shot approaching the final furlong, but Currie was all action as the gelding started to roll.
She managed to conjure a strong late burst and forced the 6-1 shot's head down on the line to win by a nose. Top bombing.

One for the tracker ðŸ”
Keep an eye on the promising Fifth Position going forward after his third in the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes.
Roger Varian's lightly-raced gelding ran out a gutsy winner at Nottingham in April (that form has been well-boosted since).
He shaped encouragingly here and just faded out of things late over 1m3f. He remains of serious interest when dropped back in trip.
