THE Nell Gwyn Stakes is a recognised trial for next month's 1000 Guineas.
A field of 11 are set to go to post. Lets run through all of Tuesday's contenders...
1. Angel's Hideaway - John Gosden/Robert Havlin (5-1)
Talented filly but not the easiest of rides, as she showed when causing in-running carnage at Newmarket last summer.
Second behind Mot Juste over C&D in the Oh So Sharp Stakes and solid claims once more.
2. Come On Leicester - Richard Hannon/Silvestre De Sousa (28-1)
Has some useful form in defeat in stakes races last season.
Ended her campaign with a comfortable win at Leicester, but she is in much deeper here.

3. Look Around - Andrew Balding/Oisin Murphy (12-1)
Looked a useful prospect when landing a Sandown Listed race in July last year.
Disappointing when seventh at Goodwood last time but too soon to write her off.
4. Main Edition - Mark Johnston/Ryan Moore (4-1)
Brings some of the strongest form to the table, courtesy of her consistent performances in Group company last year.
One of the leading contenders with Ryan Moore in the plate.

"She's the highest rated filly in the race and on her Albany and Sweet Solera runs, she's the one they all have to beat.
"I don't think she necessarily had to run here to book her place in the Guineas - I think her best form would warrant a run in the Guineas anyway.
"But it looks a decent opportunity for her and hopefully she can give us some confidence that we can come back to Newmarket next month with a realistic each-way chance."
5. Mercenary Rose - Paul Cole/David Probert (50-1)
Opened her account at the first time of asking over 5f at Lingfield in December.
That wasn't a strong race and she looks set to struggle now up in class.
6. Mistress Of Love - Karl Burke/Daniel Tudhope (28-1)
Easy winner of a Newcastle maiden and then ran with credit on her final two starts.
Others make greater appeal for win purposes but she could sneak a place.

"She's a nice filly, but we're very much throwing her in at the deep end.
"She's got entries in the English and Irish Guineas, so it's very much to find out where we are with her.
"She has matured well and she's working nicely. If she can get a place we'll be happy - it's very much a trial for her."
7. Mot Juste - Roger Varian/Andrea Atzeni (7-2)
Well ridden to win the Oh So Sharp here in October with several of these in behind.
Probably needs to raise her game again but every chance she can improve.

"Mot Juste has wintered well and strengthened up considerably. The Nell Gwyn is the logical place to start her off.
"I am pleased with the way she has been working but, although she is ready for a run, the Nell Gwyn will bring her on and we are treating it as a stepping stone to the rest of the season for her.
"She has a fast ground action - the ground is quite important to her - so the dry forecast is in her favour.
"I hope that she is a filly good enough to merit a place in the 1000 Guineas line-up."
8. Nashirah - Charlie Appleby/William Buick (12-1)
Workmanlike in breaking her maiden at the third attempt at Yarmouth in October.
Ran okay in Meydan this winter but needs to find significant improvement to win.
9. Orchid Star - Charlie Appleby/James Doyle (8-1)
Impressed in two outings on the all-weather at Chelmsford and Newcastle this winter.
Ran perfectly well on turf on debut and she is clearly on the up. One to note.
10. Qabala - Roger Varian/David Egan (8-1)
Showed a good attitude to make a winning debut over C&D in September.
The form has worked out well and her trainer holds her in high regard.

"Qabala is a slightly different type. She's only run once in her life, but she put up quite an impressive performance for a filly on her debut.
"Conditions on Tuesday should suit her too and, since they have different owners, there is no reason why both of them shouldn't run.
"Qabala is a filly full of potential and I think that she is a Group-race performer of the future.
"This will tell us a lot about her current level and if she is more of a filly for later in the season."
11. Sunday Star - Ed Walker/Gerald Mosse (7-1)
Not beaten far when third behind Mot Juste in the Oh So Sharp last season.
Yard have started the season in good form and no surprise to see her in the mix.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing her run.
"It's almost a renewal of the Oh So Sharp Stakes from last season and I wouldn't be surprised if our filly turned the form around.
"She hasn't grown much over the winter, but she has strengthened up well and she's been working great.
"She has entries in various Guineas' across Europe and hopefully she can prove she warrants a crack at one of them."
