Willie Mullins’ Un De Sceaux one of 11 entries for the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury on Super Saturday

The multiple Grade 1 winner could have his first start since finishing second to Altior in the Tingle Creek

TOP chaser Un De Sceaux heads 11 entries for the Betfair Exchange Chase at Newbury on 'Super Saturday'.

Better known as the Game Spirit Chase, the Grade 2 is a serious option for Willie Mullins' star 11-year-old after he skipped the Clarence House Chase at Ascot last month.

He missed that Grade 1 and a clash with superstar Altior because of quick ground.

But conditions at Newbury will be much more to his liking, with the going currently soft and further rain forecast this week.

He could face Ruth Jefferson's Waiting Patiently, whose sole start this season ended in disappointment when he was brought down in the King George on Boxing Day.

He has also missed several potential engagements this winter due to fast ground.

Amy Murphy's star novice Kalashnikov has been entered for the £50,000 race, but he is more likely to take up his entry in the Kingmaker at Warwick.

Grade 1 winner Fox Norton was second on his return to action behind Altior at Ascot and is a definite contender for Colin Tizzard.

The trainer said: "I don't know what is going to take him on, but he had a nice introduction at Ascot the other day and it was good to get him back on the racecourse.

"He hadn't run since the 2017 King George."
