Wednesday’s horse racing NAP: Your best bet for today’s racing from Callum Jamieson
Don't miss out on Wednesday's best tip across all the cards up and down the land
I'M at Newbury on Wednesday and hoping the rain stays away.
It's far from a tip-top card, but there's a few interesting novice heats and I've got a couple of fancies.
However, the NAP comes from the all-weather once again.
SUN HAT (Kempton, 5.30) looks to have cracking claims for the all-singing, all-dancing Simon Crisford.
When his stable are in form, it pays to follow. With four of his last five runners doing the business, that time is now.
Sun Hat was quietly progressive once the penny dropped and the addition of cheekpieces helped him on his first go in handicap company.
He's not a flashy type and is always just doing enough; something that is quite easy to pick up simply from his winning distances.
On first glance he flopped back in December over course and distance, but that was from a horrid draw and Rob Havlin would have had his head in his hands two furlongs in.
Elsewhere on Wednesday...
Over the jumps, HORATIO HORNBLOWER & CARLOS FRUITIER (2.50) will both be backed each-way if the price allows.
ANTEROS (Plumpton, 3.10) is mighty interesting over fences off this mark. It's a winnable race and is Paddy Brennan's only sit of the afternoon.
He fares better today in stall one and the smaller field will suit.
Ryan Moore gets the leg up this time, and the fact he's only 3lbs higher than his Lingfield win - which has worked out well - makes him a solid bet on Wednesday. Good luck.
