NORDIC COMBINED (2.05 Ffos Las) has been hammering on the door and was a close second to the potentially useful Rathhill at Newbury last time out.
That was on the back of a good runner-up effort at Lingfield when his inexperience over hurdles cost him.
He should improve again for his last experience and wouldn’t have to show much more on this fair drop in class.
I’D BETTER GO NOW (2.55 Fontwell) is just the type that the Skelton team does well with.
He ran in one bumper for Charlie Longsdon and showed promise when beaten four lengths at Bangor in October.
He comes from a family that has produced lots of winners in races like this and the yard is having its usual excellent season.
GONE PLATINUM (3.05 Ffos Las) got his act together well to win at Bangor last time with a little bit left in the tank.
That was over fences and it’s interesting to see him returning to hurdling off the same handicap mark in what looks a softer race.
He had some decent form over timber in Ireland before moving across the Irish Sea and this trip suits well.
A Magic Double...
EACH-WAY DOUBLE: DANCECRAFT (1.55 Fontwell) looked in need of the run after six months off when fourth at Plumpton last time out.
She should be fitter for that so pair her in a double with VERY HONEST (5.15 Wolverhampton) who has been a tight second at Lingfield on her past two starts and has a much better draw today.
ALBAN’S DREAM (4.40 Wolverhampton) was sent out in front too early over course and distance last time and was just collared in the dying strides.
She did well to keep going to be beaten a length and a 2lb rise in the weights looks fair enough. Hopefully her young rider will be more patient this time as he’s more than capable of winning this.
