Best horse racing tips for today’s action at Ayr, Wolverhampton, Hereford and Newcastle from Tom Bull

Don't miss out on Tom Bull's best bets at Wednesday's meetings

IT'S been a roller-coaster of a ride this Christmas and I for one am getting tired of gorging on cold turkey.

I'm also going cold turkey on losing tips so let's see if we can keep the profits going.

1

Ayr

2.10 Echo Express - Was well-backed when winning over fences at Hexham last time out where first-time cheekpieces appeared to work wonders.

Provided the headgear has the same effect this time he has a big chance of just a 5lb higher mark considering he drew well clear with the winner that day.

The ground is perfect and he should have more to come on just his third chase start.

Wolverhampton

2.50 Crossing The Line - Very progressive on the all-weather this winter, winning her third race on the bounce at Chelmsford last time out.

Takes step into conditions company from handicaps and is nicely in at the weights with most of these.

Can take this on the way to better things.

Hereford

2.30 Charming Zen - Looked really smart after winning first two starts easily but has disappointed since.

Still retains plenty of potential after just four starts though, and has joined Olly Murphy, who made such an impression with cast-offs from other yards.

This is not a strong race and he could we be that little bit too classy.

2.10 Ayr - Echo Express

2.30 Hereford - Charming Zen

2.50 Wolverhampton - Crossing The Line

6.15 Newcastle - Chosen World

Newcastle

6.15 Chosen World - Has looked a reformed character since being fitted with cheekpieces and made it two on the bounce when winning at the track last time out.

Was an emphatic victor that day and should be capable of following up in this weaker contest, even with an extra 4lb on his back.
