Boxing Day racing tips: NAPS for today’s racing as Matt Chapman and Templegate go head-to-head at Kempton and Wetherby in a Festive special

Chappers and Templegate face off in their NAP battle ahead of the Boxing Day action

WITH the festive period packed full of top draw racing, we have a Boxing Day special for you as Chappers and Templegate go head-to-head once more.

Matt and Steve both drew blanks over the weekend but should bounce back on a stellar day of racing.

It was a punters nightmare on Saturday as Chti Balko faded out of things for Chappers at Haydock.

Those in the Templegate camp also were out of pocket as Magic Saint ran into a mighty run from Hell's Kitchen.

As the competition draws to a close over the festive period, it's all to play for with Chappers remaining in profit and Steve needing a winner to pull it back.

Game on.

Standings after Week 13 (to a £1 stake)

Matt Chapman

There's no doubt my nap is SANTINI, who looked super well when I saw him at the Nicky Henderson yard last week.

He's taken to fences in style and completely outclassed a horse of Kim Bailey's last time out who then went on to win a Grade 2.

The yard have always said he'd be the real deal over the larger obstacles so it's quite impressive that he managed to win a Grade 1 as a hurdler.

Now he can be a Grade 1 chaser....Yeeehaaa with bells on!

Chapman's picks for the ITV races

  • 1.20 Kempton - Glen Forsa
  • 1.55 Kempton - Santini (nap)
  • 2.10 Wetherby - Crosspark (ew)
  • 2.30 Kempton - Buveur D'Air/If The Cap Fits (forecast)
  • 3.05 Kempton - Native River (ew)

MAKE the bookies pay the Pol tax in the 32Red King George.

This Christmas cracker has been won by some of racing greatest greys like Desert Orchid and One Man. I reckon POLITOLOGUE will add his name to that snowy roll of honour.

He races in the same yellow-and-red One Man colours of owner John Hales and he has the same star quality.

His jumping is superb and he showed he deserves his place in the top races when winning the Tingle Creek and Melling Chase last season.

Those races came over shorter distance and this will be his first try at 3m but I’m confident it won’t be a problem.

He’s always shaped like he would stay the trip when he had matured and his smooth Ascot defeat of talented Charbel last month did nothing to change my opinion.

Templegate's picks for the ITV races

  • 1.20 Kempton - Glen Forsa
  • 1.55 Kempton - Santini
  • 2.10 Wetherby - Crievehill
  • 2.30 Kempton - Buveur D'Air
  • 3.05 Kempton - Politologue (nap)
