Thursday’s horse racing NAP: Your best bet for today’s racing from Callum Jamieson

Don't miss out on today's best tip across all the cards up and down the land

SO the five-timer wasn't to be with an agonising second at Kempton.

But there's plenty of good fields throughout the cards on Thursday, none more so than at Taunton and we head there in good form for the NAP.

AMOOLA GOLD (Taunton, 3.15) relished the summer ground last time at Hereford and should have conditions once again.

The unexposed five-year-old is up 6lbs for his win on chase debut last time - but I feel that could be generous.

I'd be doing the Skelton team a disservice by saying they're back in form, as they're runners are always in shape, but after a brief lull the winners have been flying in once again.

The form of Amoola Gold's win looks solid for the grade, with the second running well in a big Newbury handicap next time out and now rated 136.

This 25-1 pick has a huge chance for a trainer who plunders British races

Skelton's horse showed plenty of promise over hurdles in some good novice heats, but they were quick to get him over fences and I'd be very surprised if he didn't rate plenty higher over the bigger obstacles.

It's no gimme with Paul Nicholls's Capeland chasing the hat-trick and Colin Tizzard's Lillington still nicely weighted.

But I think they're coming close to the top of their marks and Amoola Gold has the scope to be plenty better than this type of race.

The tight track is no problem and he should be a decent enough price to boot.

Elsewhere on Thursday...

CHRISTMAS IN APRIL (Taunton, 2.10) will be a bet on chase debut. He should bounce back from a poor showing at Cheltenham last time and looks feasibly treated.

JESTER JET and HARD STATION look to have huge chances at Warwick too. A lot will depend on their prices.
