Free horse racing tips for today: Lingfield, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton – The Wizard of Odds’ betting preview for Monday, December 10
The Wizard of Odds guides you through Monday's racing at Musselburgh, Lingfield and Wolverhampton
THYNE FOR GOLD (3.15 Musselburgh) ended his 2017 campaign with a win at Worcester and picked up where he left off when scoring on comeback at Bangor last time out.
He had to dig deep there to win by a neck and it could be that he just needed the run after 16 months off.
This distance is his favourite and an 8lb rise in the weights gives him every chance of landing the hat-trick given he has so few miles on the clock.
WOLFCATCHER (1.15 Musselburgh) looks the answer to this tricky little contest.
His best form has come around this distance and he has looked in need of the run on both his outings this season.
He stays this distance and it won’t be an issue if more rains and the ground goes softer.
'HIGHLY UNLIKELY' Nicky Henderson won't be tempted into running Altior in the King George
JENNYS SURPRISE (2.30 Lingfield) was last seen running well in a Listed race at Perth and will love this testing ground.
She stays 3m and further which will be a major asset because Lingfield takes a fair bit of getting, particularly in heavy conditions.
She looks on a fair enough mark and trainer Fergal O’Brien is in excellent form.
DEEBAJ (3.00 Lingfield) is a tricky customer but he has some ability as shown when fifth in a better race than this at Sandown last time out.
Wizard's magic tips...
EACH-WAY DOUBLE: MOSSYS LODGE (3.30 Wolverhampton) was beaten in a close finish at Lingfield last time and has been left alone by the handicapper.
Double her up with REGAL BANNER (5.30 Wolverhampton) who wasn’t asked many questions on debut at Kempton last time and should do a lot better today.
TOP TEAM: Sean Bowen has ridden three winners from his past four mounts for Kim Bailey. He is on board THIBAULT (12.45 Musselburgh)
He was coming back from six months off there so should come on fitness-wise and he’s only just joined Gary Moore who often improves other trainers’ horses.
He’s come right down the weights and is capable of bouncing back.
UNFORGIVING MINUTE (4.30 Wolverhampton) makes plenty of appeal on his first start for trainer Paul D’Arcy.
He was knocking on the door before the yard move, including when beaten a neck at Lingfield in a similar race last month.
This trip is ideal and he has gone well here in the past. There doesn’t look to be a lot of strength in his rivals.
