Free horse racing tips for today: Lingfield, Kempton, Newcastle, Haydock and Ludlow – The Wizard of Odds’ betting preview for Wednesday, December 5

The Wizard of Odds guides you through Wednesday's racing at Lingfield, Kempton, Newcastle, Haydock and Ludlow

THE BIG BITE (1.55 Haydock) can sink his teeth into the bookies.

Tom George’s five-year-old showed lots of promise in bumpers with a couple of wins before a respectable midfield effort in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival.

He translated all that talent to his first race over hurdles at Chepstow last time out.

He travelled well there before storming away to land a win by five lengths. There should be a lot more to come and he can take this step up in class in his stride.

FIELD EXHIBITION (12.10 Ludlow) has done well since switching back to hurdling after falling in a chase.

She was tanking along from a long way out and didn’t have to be extended to land a cosy victory.

This slight drop in distance shouldn’t be a problem and she’s dropping into claiming company after that success at handicap level.

JAMES STREET (3.55 Kempton) has had a wind operation since finishing down the field in a York Group 1 contest in August.

That came after a couple of wins in lesser races over this trip and his best form would be good enough to win this.

He is coming back from more than three months off but that procedure should have helped.

Magic dust

EACH-WAY DOUBLE: DOLLAR VALUE (11.30 Lingfield) didn’t get the run of the race at Kempton last time after winning well at Chelmsford.

Pair him with AMORLETTE (3.30 Haydock) who is getting weight from her male rivals.

IN-FORM: Tom Lacey has had six winners from his past 12 runners so his QURI (12.20 Haydock) is worth a close look today.

RETICENT ANGEL (5.00 Kempton) has every chance of landing the hat-trick after victories at Chelmsford and last time at Lingfield.

Those victories came over 5f and she stayed on strongly for her most recent win.

That makes this step up in distance a wise move and a 3lb rise in the weights gives her every chance.
