Sunday’s racing tips: A big-priced belter to fill your pockets at Carlisle from Jack Keene

EVEN though there's a Listed race and a couple of high class handicaps, the fare is generally pretty disappointing on Sunday.

I'd rather be over in Ireland to see Apple's Jade strut her stuff than up at Carlisle in the pouring rain!

However, for all my doom and gloom I've managed to unearth a live one at odds you most certainly can't sniff at.

TOO MANY CHIEFS (3.00 Carlisle) can be chief du partie off top-weight in the mares' staying race.

She couldn't stop winning at around this time last year, striking three times in ground more bottomless than Donald Trump's pockets.

With further rain set to hit the northern track (which is already soft), conditions should be ideal for my mud-loving mare to put her best foot forward.

She produced a decent effort on reappearance, finishing fourth of seven, and is likely to be a different proposition now that the cobwebs have been blown away.

What's interesting is that despite her being rated only 124, she heads the weights in this Class 2 contest.

Some would see that as a negative but it shows she's the best horse and there's no doubting she has the potential for even better this year.

Those down the bottom of the weights have a fair bit to find, and at the top of the handicap she is arguably open to the most improvement under these conditions.
