Free horse racing tips for today: Ayr, Bangor, Exeter and Kempton – The Wizard of Odds’ betting preview for Wednesday, November 14

The Wizard of Odds guides you through Wednesday's racing at Ayr, Bangor, Exeter and Kempton

SOPHIE OLIVIA (2.45 Ayr) ran a cracker when winning on her chasing debut at Hexham last time out.

She relished every yard of the 2m4f trip there and had the race in the bag from a long way out.

That was already a big step forward on anything she showed over hurdles and there should be more to come.

An 8lb rise in the weights looks fair enough given that her opening mark was clearly on the lenient side. This race is no tougher than last time so another big run is on the cards.

FLASH THE STEEL (2.25 Bangor) hasn’t done a lot wrong in four bumpers that saw him go close each time.

He looked in need of his comeback when third at Stratford last month when just running out of petrol in the closing stages.

Going over hurdles should bring out the best in him and he looks a nice prospect in this sphere for the Skeltons.

JUST A STING (2.35 Exeter) really caught the eye when winning on his chasing debut at Uttoxeter last time out.

He travelled well enough and picked up well after the final fence to win going away. That was over 2m6f and this step up in distance should bring further improvement.

He had winning form here as a hurdler but already looks a much better prospect over the bigger obstacles.

Wizard's magic tip...

LUCKY 15: FLASH THE STEEL (2.25 Bangor), JUST A STING (2.35 Exeter), SOPHIE OLIVIA (2.45 Ayr), BLACK OP (3.10 Exeter).

EACH-WAY DOUBLE: REDMOND (2.05 Exeter) looked very much in need of the run on his comeback run at Fontwell last time out. He was well backed that day and should be a lot fitter here.

Pair him with CASTERLY ROCK (3.40 Exeter) who was an excellent second at Bangor last time and has every chance from 3lb higher in the weights.

TOP TEAM: Barry Geraghty has ridden four winners from five rides for trainer Fergal O’Brien. He is on board TIME TO MOVE ON (1.00 Exeter) today.

BLACK OP (3.10 Exeter) has been a talking horse for a while now and should be a backable price on this chasing debut.

He was out of the very top drawer as a hurdler as he finished second in the Ballymore at the Cheltenham Festival before finishing the season with a Grade 1 win at Aintree.

That’s excellent form over this sort of distance and trainer Tom George believes he can achieve even more as a chaser, which would be something.
