Free horse racing tips for today: Lingfield, Sedgefield, Stratford, Newcastle and Wolverhampton – The Wizard of Odds’ betting preview for Thursday, November 1
The Wizard of Odds guides you through Thursday's racing at Newcastle, Lingfield, Sedgefield, Stratford and Wolverhampton
MOVE SWIFTLY (2.35 Lingfield) looks well named after close-up seconds at Newmarket and York.
Before that she ran away with a handicap at Goodwood when she looked a Listed-class performer in the making.
Although having to settle for second best at HQ last time, it took a really good performance from another good prospect to lower her colours. There was a fair distance back to the third horse so the form should be solid enough.
She should have no issues switching to the all-weather given she handled an artificial surface well when scoring at Wolverhampton in July. This step into Listed class looks a smart move and trainer William Haggas has won the past two runnings of this race.
KIMBERELLA (2.00 Lingfield) continues to run well and put in an excellent performance when a strong-finishing third in the Coral Sprint Trophy at York last time.
That was over 6f so this extra furlong could help and he’s got winning form over the trip and around here. It’s been a long season but he clearly loves racing and takes it well.
QUEEN OF THE TURF Frankie Dettori can't wait to ride Enable at the Breeders' Cup this weekend
He was good enough to land a Listed win earlier this summer and the opposition here isn’t as strong as York.
STREAM SONG (3.05 Lingfield) has improved with every step up in distance and should find more for this thorough test of stamina.
After winning over 1m2f at Windsor in April, something was not right when she trailed in last at Newbury a few weeks later.
John Gosden then gave her a nice long break before she returned to run a good third over 1m4f at Newmarket last time out.
Wizard's magic tips...
LUCKY 15: KIMBERELLA (2.00 Lingfield), MOVE SWIFTLY (2.35 Lingfield), STREAM SONG (3.05 Lingfield), CALLING THE WIND (6.45 Wolverhampton)
EACH-WAY DOUBLE: CALEDONA LAIRD (5.45 Wolverhampton) ran a cracker here last time and won’t be far away from just 2lb higher in the weights. Pair him with MUTABAAHY (8.45 Wolverhampton) who has gone close on his past two runs at Newcastle. He likes it here and should hit the frame at least.
She was doing all her best work at the finish there so this extra furlong should be right up her street. Given this is just her fourth run of the season — and the first after a break — there should be a lot more to come.
CALLING THE WIND (6.45 Wolverhampton) trotted across the line to land his second win on the spin at Chelmsford last time out.
That was over a similar trip to this and built upon another victory at the Essex venue. He went well on his last visit here when second but he seems to have improved a little since then.
He has a 6lb penalty to carry for his latest win and that gives him every chance of landing the hat-trick.
