The gelding has had two major injury setbacks in the last two years.

He missed the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2017 with a tendon injury, while he was also ruled out of the Festival this year with a stress fracture.

He had two outings last winter and has been off since finishing fourth in the King George on Boxing Day.

The son of Kayf Tara could face last year's winner Bristol De Mai in the Charlie Hall.

The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained grey went on to win the Betfair Chase by a huge margin after landing this contest last season.

Paul Nicholls could be well-represented, with classy pair Black Corton and Clan Des Obeaux entered up.

Black Corton won a Grade 1 at Kempton last season while Clan Des Obeaux was third behind Might Bite in the Bowl at Aintree in the spring.

Gordon Elliott has handed entries to Alpha Des Obeaux, Don Poli and Outlander.
