Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks for today’s racing at Redcar, Leicester, Ayr and Chelmsford

Don't miss out on Sun Racing's best bet and each-way shot at all of today's meetings

CHELTENHAM has whetted the appetite for the jumps but for now it's back to the Flat, with action from Redcar and Leicester leading the way on Monday.

We've had our heads in the form and picked out our best bets for you across all the cards.

1

Redcar

Best bet

1.05 Island Jungle - Improved on his debut fifth last time out when staying on nicely for fourth over a shorter trip. This is a weaker race and he should be able to get off the mark now he's had time to progress.

Each way

2.15 Wax And Wane - Defeat in a very hot handicap at York last time can be excused and he has every chance now eased in grade. Soft ground will suit him well and the trip is ideal. Can win off this mark and Clifford Lee takes off a handy 3lb.

Leicester

Best bet

1.55 Twin Star - Andrew Balding's four-year-old can give King Power Racing a poignant victory. He did it well last time out at Chester over a similar trip and he like the ground. Only 2lb higher than that victory and will take a lot of beating once again.

Each way

3.05 Escalator - Slightly out of his depth last time out in a Listed contest but should be happier now returned to calmer waters. Charlie Fellowes has his team in good form and this one can make it four wins from his last seven starts.

Ayr

Best bet

2.05 Trongate - Has earned a 7lb higher mark for winning last time out, a mark that looks fully deserved considering he had Oighear Dubh in behind (would have won at Cheltenham on Friday but for running out). Likely to take some beating in a weak race with the champ up top.

Each way

2.40 Nortonthorpelegend - Down to a very good mark and has produced his best form over this course and distance. Out of form when last seen but has had a break and should be capable of exploiting lowly rating.

MOLTEN MAGNA Magna Grecia sails home to give Aidan O'Brien ninth win in Vertem Futurity

Chelmsford

Best bet

8.15 Impart - Will need to show bright gate speed to get out from stall 11 but if getting a good early pitch can bring up the hat-trick. Front-runners are often favoured at this track and he can defy a rise in the weights.

Each way

6.15 Hammer Gun - Drops into a 0-80 for the first time in a while on the all-weather and that can make the difference here. Southwell specialist but has won at this track in the past and can strike for the first time since March.
