Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks for today’s racing at Redcar, Haydock, Fakenham, Wincanton and Newcastle
Don't miss out on Sun Racing's best bet and each-way shot at all of today's meetings
CHAMPIONS Day is all the rage with just one day to go, but there's still some decent action to get stuck into on Friday.
The Sun Racing team have been studying the form and picked out their best bets and each-way picks for all of Friday's cards.
Redcar
Best bet
2.45 Icario - Just failed to do the business at Catterick last time over a shorter trip and this step up should be ideal. Not been long with Stef Keniry but he already seems to be showing the benefit of a change of stables and can strike off top-weight.
Each-way
4.20 Naples Bay - Was in good form prior to a disappointing effort on the Tapeta at Newcastle last time out and has every chance here if bouncing back. Was given too much to do on his penultimate start and still looks capable of winning off this mark.
Haydock
Best bet
2.00 Epona - Carries a 6lb penalty for winning last time at Ayr but she did it quite easily (for all that it was a slightly weaker race). Massive plus is that she'll go in the ground and there won't be many who can do that.
Each-way
3.05 Confessional - Veteran shows no sign of losing interest in the game and has produced three very good displays in the past month. Not quite as good last time out but that was a stronger race than this and he'll love the ground.
Fakenham
Best bet
2.35 Miles To Milan - Already showing the benefit of a move to Olly Murphy, having won nicely at Ayr on just his second start for the handler. That was back in May but he'll almost certainly be fit enough to do himself justice now back over hurdles in first-time cheekpieces.
Each-way
4.10 Carlos Du Fruitier - Threatened to make a smart hurdler at one point though rather lost his way. However, best at this time of year and is surely better than his current mark over fences. Wears first-time blinkers.
Wincanton
Best bet
3.25 Lovato - Probably needs to improve after copping another 6lb rise but he could do with the addition of blinkers. Dr Richard Newland is very good with this kind of horse and he's on the up.
Each-way
5.05 Nachi Falls - Has plummeted down the handicap after some roguish runs in defeat but has had a wind op and now contests a Class 4. Tom Buckley takes off 10lb and he really should be able to win soon.
Newcastle
Best bet
7.15 - Harry George - Benefited massively from a wind operation and first-time hood at the track last time out and won with enough authority to suggest he can defy a rise in the weights.
Each-way
8.15 - Kentuckyconnection - Rated in the 90s at one stage, he's now down to mark of 68. With Harry Russell's 7lb he's almost off 60 and if he can't win of that then he never will. Drop back in trip should help and he can get back in the winners' enclosure.
