The Wizard of Odds guides you through Wednesday's racing at Nottingham, Bath, Wetherby and Newcastle

HAVE one El of a bet in the 4.05 at Nottingham.

ELASIA had a fair bit left in the tank when winning at Goodwood last time out. There was only a head in it at the line but the victory looked a fair bit more comfortable than that.

She saw out every yard of the 1m6f distance well and a 2lb rise in the weights shouldn’t be enough to stop her striking again.

Di Alta looks the main danger on the back of a good second at Catterick last time out. She met trouble in running a few times and trainer Ed Walker is finishing off the Flat season in good style.

This looks a tougher race but she’s on a fair mark.

MEDIEVAL ran a cracker in the Silver Cambridgeshire last time and can take Nottingham’s 3.35.

Cameron Noble takes a handy 5lb off his back which means he’s effectively 4lb lower than that good run at Newmarket. It came over 1m1f but he finished strongly and may have won with a clearer run.

He was baulked a couple of times in the big field and did well to be beaten a length and a half. The run at HQ built on another good effort at Newbury where he was a close-up second over today’s distance.

The bit of cut in the ground is another plus and it will be hard to keep him out of the frame at a big price.

We’re probably pushing it trying to land three in a row at Nottingham but there’s no getting away from the chances of BASHIBA in the 4.40.

He has been in consistent form all season and went down by a neck at Redcar last time out. That was over this trip with some give in the ground so there’s no reason why he won’t be right on the premises again.

This looks a slightly easier race than last time and there should be plenty of pace on which suits the seven-year-old.

MAM’SELLE looks a value bet in Bath’s Listed 2.55.

The Wizard's best bets

STRIKE IT EACH-WAY LUCKY 15: Mam’selle (2.55 Bath), Medieval (3.35 Nottingham), Elasia (4.05 Nottingham), Bashiba (4.40 Nottingham).

SHORT-PRICED DOUBLE: West End Charmer (1.50 Bath) and Pure Shores (5.35 Bath).

TOP TEAM: Ross Chapman has a 43% strike-rate riding for trainer Ann Hamilton. They team up with one horse today — Oak Vintage (4.55 Wetherby).

ON HIS TRAVELS: Hugo Palmer sends one runner 241 miles to Newcastle today — New Orleans in the 7.45.

She has been relatively lightly raced this season and maybe found the ground extremely testing when still finishing a good third at Haydock last time out.

The going will be a bit better this afternoon, which helps, and she has no problem seeing out this testing trip.

This is a tough race but she’s run with credit at this level and better already this term and she should put in another good effort.
