Saturday racing tips: NAPS for today’s racing as Matt Chapman and Templegate go head-to-head

IT'S that time of the week where our expert tipsters give us their best bets ahead of another busy Saturday.

The NAPs come from Newmarket and York, and we update the table after two weeks of the competition.

Team Chappers were rewarded with a winner last weekend as Laurens did the job for Matt in the Sun Chariot.

She picked up her fifth Group 1 of her career at an SP of 11-4 as she fought off Happily.

Templegate drew an unlucky blank as Dawaaleeb was beaten a short head at 10-1.

Onto week three, and the pair are hoping for success in the Cesarewitch and a big pot at York.

This time last year Withhold was punted off the boards in the Cesarewitch and absolutely hacked up for owner Tony Bloom and Roger Charlton.

This time Bloom has the Willie Mullins-handled Stratum in the big race and I think the result will be the same.

Stratum was desperately unlucky at York in the Ebor, and prior to that had won well at Newbury having got a little outpaced at Royal Ascot. This trip of 2m2f is made for him.

Yes he's one of the market movers, but he's still decent odds and I expect a massive run. Like huge!

Templegate

The Star should rise again in the Coral Sprint Trophy.

Teruntum Star saw off smart Spring Loaded and Flying Pursuit to win this race last year.

He’s a pound lower in the weights this time and has not had the hardest of seasons with only five starts behind him.

His eighth in the Ayr Gold Cup hinted at a return to his peak form as he put the pace to the race before fading in the final furlongs.

The visor he wears for the first time instead of his usual cheekpieces could easily spark him back into action.
