Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks for today’s racing at Nottingham, Salisbury, Bangor and Newcastle

Don't miss out on Sun Racing's best bet and each-way shot at all of today's meetings

SALISBURY and Nottingham both hold strong end of season cards at their respective tracks, with Newcastle and Bangor a tasty side dish.

We've picked through the form and selected our best bets throughout the day for you.

1

Nottingham

Best bet

3.35 Saaheq - Another shrewd purchase by connections and he has already rewarded them. Has looked a few steps ahead of the handicapper so far and that doesn't look like changing anytime soon, despite another 5lb hike.

Each way

4.40 Carnwennan - Looks a weak race for the money and I'll take a chance on this unexposed Charlie Fellowes horse. Will stay all day and showed enough on handicap debut to suggest he's capable at this level.

Salisbury

Best bet

2.10 Gamba - Encouraging signs on debut. Only a handful of runners at Ascot but the top two are solid yard sticks. Should have learnt plenty that day and can use that experience here.

Each way

4.20 Mujassam - A slight leap of faith, but the handicapper has given him some breathing room. Only 1lb higher than cosy win at Hamilton a few starts back, and that form has worked out well through the season.

Bangor

Best bet

4.00 Masterofdeception - Big weight to shoulder but the most consistent in the field and not much looks a threat. The better the ground, the happier this horse will be jumping around.

Each way

4.30 Quids In - Small fields make each way betting hard to come by at Bangor but Quids In makes appeal for Donald McCain on his first start for the trainer. Only okay on the flat but trainer has a knack with these sorts.

Newcastle

Best bet

5.30 On Fire - Unlucky to go up 3lbs for second at Chester, but still going well and enjoys this track and surface. Good form over the summer and has been freshened up with a short break.

Each way

7.30 Viking Way - A poor race and this three-year-old has shown hints of ability in his last two efforts. A tad more improvement and he should be able to figure off this basement mark against a host of exposed rivals.
