3.40 NEWMARKET: Cambridgeshire Handicap
DANCETERIA can waltz off with the Cambridgeshire.
David Menuisier’s three-year-old ticks more boxes than most in this tough contest.
Older horses don’t have much chance in this cavalry charge along the Rowley Mile, with only one of the past 10 scorers aged any older than five.
This year, that spells trouble for Mythical Madness, Mistiroc, Examiner, Via Via, Third Time Lucky, Sands Chorus, Restorer, Raising Sand and Circus Couture. That’s nine down, 26 to go!
Only one of the past 10 winners managed to carry more than 9st 4lb so Sharja Bridge, Pivoine, Mountain Hunter, Seniority, Alfarris, Afaak, Wissahickon and Very Talented are also overlooked.

Now we’ve cut the field in half we can concentrate on horses that have run within 50 days. Abe Lincoln, UAE Prince, What’s The Story and Ventura Knight miss out on that score.
Winning last time out has been a negative, so Waarif, Via Serendipity and Stylehunter have to go.
A win over 1m2f has been a plus which is something that can’t be boasted by Tricorn, Kenya, Kynren, Zwayyan, Sabador, Masham Star and Bravery.
That has reduced them to a final four of Euro Nightmare, Danceteria, Kings Gift and Mordin.
Only two of them have won in a double-figure field so we’ll overlook Euro Nightmare and Kings Gift.
Danceteria has the stronger recent form but Mordin is also worth a saver given he’s hardly put a foot wrong all season.
