KING GEORGE hero Poet's Word will miss the rest of the season.
The top-class five-year-old suffered an injury setback and will not be seen again this year.
Sir Michael Stoute's stable star won both the Prince Of Wales's Stakes and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot this summer.
He was second to Roaring Lion in the Juddmonte International at York on his latest outing last month.
The son of Poet's Voice was entered in both the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and Champion Stakes later in the campaign.
However, after suffering a setback, his owner will decide in the coming days whether or not to retire the horse to stud or continue his racing career in 2019.

Stoute said: "Poet's Word has sustained an injury and will not be able to race again this year.
"His owner, Saeed Suhail, will soon be coming to England and will make a decision on his future."
Poet's Word has won twice and finished second four times at Group 1 level during his career.
He has amassed prize money earnings of almost £3,000,000.
