Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks ahead of today’s racing at Doncaster, Carlisle, Kempton and Uttoxeter

Don't miss out on Sun Racing's best bet and each-way shot at all of Wednesday's meetings

DAY ONE of Doncaster’s St Leger Festival gets underway today, while there are three cracking supporting meetings.

We’ve had our heads in the formbook and picked out our strongest fancies from each of the tracks.

Rex Features

Doncaster

Best bet

4.05 Crystal Hope – Beautifully-bred filly has been below her best in Listed company the last twice. She has been crying out for the step up to this 1m4f trip, though, and could be nicely weighted on handicap debut.

Each-way

2.25 Hesslewood – Made a big impression when winning on debut at York earlier in the season. Had excuses back at that track last time out and this is more suitable.

Carlisle

Best bet

3.10 Divine Gift – Has shaped with promise on both of his starts to date in stronger maidens than this. Will relish the step up to 1m today and soft ground no concern.

Each-way

3.45 Rosebank – Nicely-bred filly caught the eye when finishing seventh on debut at Beverley. She was doing her best work late that day so will appreciate this extra furlong.

Kempton

Best bet

8.15 Lexington Empire – Ran out an impressive winner at Chelmsford last time out. Clearly going the right way having won two of his last three, so he should have more to offer.

Each-way

7.15 Loved So Much – Makes plenty of appeal on paper and ran nicely to finish sixth on debut. Yard’s runners usually improve with experience, so better expected today.

Uttoxeter

Best bet

3.25 Drinks Interval – Has some useful form to his name from his last couple of starts. Step back up to 3m in his favour and in-form Richard Johnson takes the ride.

Each-way

3.55 Venue – Ran well for a long way when third on his return to jumping last time out. Slightly longer trip in his favour this afternoon.
