Arc hopefuls Enable and Crystal Ocean declared to meet in Group 3 September Stakes at Kempton on Saturday
Last year's Arc winner Enable returns to the track after a lengthy layoff
IT'S on! Crystal Ocean has been declared to take on Enable in Saturday's September Stakes at Kempton.
Enable hasn't been seen since winning the Arc last year and now faces a considerable rival on her long-awaited comeback.
Both camps will have more than one eye on a crack at this year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
King George runner-up Crystal Ocean has been off the track since his Ascot run but the four-year-old will head to Kempton instead of a shot at the Irish Champions Stakes.
Sir Michael Stoute's horse must give 8lb to Enable due to the race conditions, but should have the fitness factor over the superstar filly.
Jockey Frankie Dettori is to take the ride on Enable before flying off in a helicopter to ride James Garfield in the Sprint Cup at Haydock.
Only three other horses have declared with John Gosden also set to run Ebor second Weekender, who, like Enable, is owned by Khalid Abdullah.
Roger Charlton's Cribbs Causeway and the Richard Hannon-trained Peak Princess complete the field.
