Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks ahead of today’s racing at Ascot, Haydock, Newcastle, Musselburgh and Kempton

Don't miss out on Sun Racing's best bet and each-way shot at all of Friday's meetings

THE quality racing continues on Friday, with several cracking cards ahead of a big weekend.

The Sun Racing team have studied the form to find you the best bets and each-way selections from each meeting.

1

Ascot

Best bet

2.40 What A Welcome - Has improved leaps and bounds this season and again came good in a competitive race at Newbury last time. Up 4lb but he could yet have more to offer.

Each-way

4.20 La Rav - Showed plenty of promise last season, winning at Salisbury and Newbury. Flopped over 7f on his return to action but worth another chance back up to a mile.

Haydock

Best bet

5.15 Garbanzo - Travelled like a dream when winning a shade cosily at Ffos Las on his latest start. Only up 2lb and will take plenty of stopping in his hat-trick bid.

Each-way

4.10 Saluti - Capable performer on his day, as he showed when winning twice earlier in the season. Below-par run latest but has dropped back to his last winning mark as a result.

Newcastle

Best bet

3.25 French Resistance - Shaped as though the return to this 1m4f trip would suit when a close second at Pontefract last time. Well drawn and looks to have been found a good opening here.

Each-way

2.15 Passing Star - Was gaining on the leaders at the finish when fifth at Wolverhampton last time having been slowly away. He is dangerously handicapped if he can break on terms.

TICKET GIVEAWAY Don't miss your chance to win tickets to the St Leger Festival at Doncaster

Musselburgh

Best bet

4.25 Sky Defender - Ran with loads of promise on debut but flopped when a well-backed favourite at York last time. He wouldn't be the first to disappoint at that track, though, and he will be hard to beat if bouncing back.

Each-way

5.00 Mable Lee - Struggled on easy ground at Hamilton last time out. Gets a quicker surface here and she had run well at Ayr previously. Now 2lb below her last winning mark.

Kempton

Best bet

7.45 Mootasadir - Looked a very smart prospect when winning his first two starts on the all-weather, but has been beaten on turf the last twice. Return to an artificial surface can see him bounce back.

Each-way

8.45 Fitzwilly - Reliable sort has run well on his previous visits to this track. Has slipped to a good mark and Silvestre De Sousa takes the ride.
