Wednesday’s racing tips: Two longshots to fill your pockets at Catterick and Lingfield
Don't miss out on these each-way bets for Wednesday, August 29
IT'S a mix and match Wednesday, with all weather, flat and jumps action rolled into one.
With some good fields, there's some interesting betting opportunities through the afternoon and into the evening.
A Mick Appleby handicap debutante is always worth keeping tabs on, and any money for this three-year-old makes her even more interesting.
She started life off in Ireland and is making only her second start for Appleby. She gets plenty of weight from her rivals and is completely unexposed.
Her Irish form is hard to read, but she showed enough last time at Nottingham to suggest Appleby has picked up another shrewd buy.
The winner is well thought of in the James Fanshawe yard and the second has since won a strong Newbury race in taking fashion.
2.20 Lingfield - Hard Taskmaster
A trappy race, but James Tate's juvenile looks over priced dropped in grade at Lingfield.
He struggled in novice company but has improved slightly in handicaps, with arguably his best effort last time out despite racing far too free.
He gets a first time visor which should fingers crossed solve that issue and Oisin Murphy takes the saddle, which is encouraging.
It will be his first run on the all weather, which based on pedigree should also help.
