Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks for today’s racing at Epsom, Chepstow, Cartmel, Ripon and Southwell
IT’S A BUSY bank holiday Monday, with five competitive meetings to get stuck into.
The Sun Racing team have studied the form to find you the best bets and each-way selections for every race across the country.
Cartmel
Best bet
4.25 Raise A Spark – Has impressed with convincing victories on his last two visits to this track. Will be hard to beat again in his hat-trick bid.
Each-way
2.05 Sheriff Garrett – Improved effort on his second start over hurdles at Market Rasen. The step up to this 2m6f trip looks as though it will suit.
FOX IN THE BOX Leicester chairman splashes the cash on 60 horses in two-year spending spree
Chepstow
Best bet
5.30 Garbanzo – Ran out a smooth winner over 1m6f at Ffos Las on his latest start. Step up to 2m no problem and only gone up 2lb.
Each-way
4.55 Madame Jo Jo – Has run some good races at this track and had excuses when below form last time. Dropped in class and worth another chance.
Epsom
Best bet
3.40 C’Est No Mour – Won this race last season off a 3lb lower mark. Likely to have been prepared for a repeat win, and leading amateur Simon Walker is booked.
Each-way
2.30 Swissal – Reliable three-year-old rarely runs a bad race. His trainer has fitted him with first-time cheekpieces and they could eke out further progress.
Ripon
Best bet
4.00 Neverland Rock – Caught the eye in a Group 2 at Newmarket in July and things didn’t go his way at Goodwood. Eased in class and could prove a class above his rivals.
Each-way
4.35 Two For Two – Smart performer in his day and ran a good race to finish second at Pontefract last time. Goes well at this track and on a good mark.
Southwell
Best bet
2.25 Epona – Well-backed but only third in a tactical race at Ayr last time. This looks an easier opening so she can open her account at the third attempt.
Each-way
3.00 Poyle George Two – Hinted at ability when fifth on his debut at Windsor. Will have learnt plenty from that and yard in good form.
